Saturday & Sunday: Original Hot Class Katite will lead a 90min Original Hot class Saturday and Sunday mornings from 10 - 11:30am. If you have never taken an Original Hot class from Katite, you are in for a memorable morning! Please come prepared to listen carefully, work hard and make space for one and other. While not exceptionally hot, Katite’s classes inspire an unusual intensity, making them among the most popular of the year. Everyone is welcome!
You do not need to sign up for the workshop in order to attend the class, nor are you required to attend the class in order to attend the workshop. However, if you are attending the workshop and would like us to save you a spot in class, please send an email to expandyoga@gmail.com. We highly recommend signing up for this class in advance as it tends to fill up quickly. We will do our best to make space for everyone.
There will be an hour break from noon to 1pm so everyone can shower, change and eat.
Saturday & Sunday: Posture Workshop: Katite will lead a 3.5 hour posture workshop from approx. 1pm - 4:30pm where we will discuss the breath, many (though not all) of the 26 postures, and the overall intention behind the Original Hot system. We will use visuals including willing students, and possibly hand drawing to explore alignment. Each day will cover different postures and there will be time for questions and discussion. Most importantly, Katite will share her stories, experience and insight gained through her extensive relationship with this system of practice over the past 30 years. Even if you have attended this very same workshop in the past, new material, new details and new understanding are guaranteed as Katite is always learning, and always relating her new knowledge and experience to the Original Hot system.
Katite has been practicing yoga since the early 90's in San Fransisco where she began studying Ashtanga Yoga under Larry Shultz. In 1996 she became a certified Bikram Yoga instructor and studied with Bikram Choudhury while simultaneously studying with Anna Forrest. She has remained a dedicated student, taught thousands of hours of classes over the past 30 years both in India and the U.S. and consistently inspires her students. She is also an artist and woodworker, having worked as a professional cabinet maker. She has owned studios in San Fransisco, taught teacher trainings all over America and is currently pursuing a degree in Chinese Medicine.
