Dive into the Heart of the Original Hot Style with Katite Gumucio.

Join us for what promises to be a fabulous weekend workshop focusing on the Original Hot / 26 & 2 / Hot Hatha practice. Whatever you call it, you know it when you feel it, and Katite will help us all to experience it at another level, as she has nearly every year for the past 12 years.

Katite's expertise extends far beyond her initial training and personal practice. She imparts deep knowledge and skills acquired through 28 years of teaching, continued education in disciplines ranging from art, to carpentry to acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine, filtered through her own intellegence and combined with deep reflection on the essence of yoga’s teachings.

Katite will explain key postures, breathing techniques, and the philosophy that underlies this practice. Her insight tends to renew all our commitments to our practice, body, mind, and spirit. Her commitment to learning, and her deep well of knowledge ensures that even if you've attended her workshops before, you'll discover new material and absorb new insights. Her personal stories and wisdom cultivated through her decades-long relationship with the Original Hot style help renew our connection to this practice so that it can better support us in our lives.

Katite has been practicing yoga since the early 90's in San Francisco where she began studying Ashtanga Yoga under Larry Shultz. Once introduced to Hot Yoga she studied at the Yoga College of India where she practiced under Mary Jarvis, Stephanie Schreiber & David Hauck. In 1996 she became a certified Bikram Yoga instructor and studied with Bikram Choudhury while simultaneously studying with Anna Forrest. She has remained a dedicated student, taught thousands of hours of classes over the past 28 years both in India and the U.S. and consistently inspires her students. She is also an artist and woodworker, having worked as a professional cabinet maker. She has owned studios in San Francisco, taught teacher trainings all over America and is currently pursuing a doctorate in Chinese Medicine and interning in Chinese Veterinary Medicine.
